WAX x VIBE

Kelcey Tupas (owner & esthetician):

"If I were to offer one piece of advice to an esthetician that's just starting out, it would be to focus on building strong relationships with clients.

Having a loyal customer base is crucial for any esthetician's success, and this is especially important when starting out. Building trust and rapport with clients will not only keep them coming back for your services, but they'll also be more likely to recommend you to others.

To build strong client relationships, estheticians should:

  1. Listen to their clients' needs and concerns, and provide personalized services that address their specific skincare concerns.
  2. Communicate clearly and professionally, and make sure clients understand what to expect during the treatment.
  3. Educate their clients on the hows and whys of the treatments and products recommended for them.
  4. Show empathy and care, and create a comfortable and relaxing environment for clients.
  5. Follow up after treatments to check in with clients and ensure they are happy with the results.

By focusing on building strong client relationships, estheticians can create a loyal customer base that will help their business thrive."

WAX x VIBE offers client-focused, responsive waxing in Arcadia, CA.

J Infinity Wax

Jessica:

"Advice I’d give to a new esthetician? If they are looking into opening a business, I would say to look for a business course in the beauty industry and to take it but make sure they align with the same interests/beliefs in personal growth. Owning your business has so many pieces to it and there are professionals in the beauty industry to help you get you to where you want to be, you don’t have to do it alone!

If it’s a new esthetician coming out of beauty school and they don’t know what to do next, I would suggest working under another company or business that offers all services to find your niche/love services first because burn out will and could happen but that happiness is the most important part in your career journey."

J Infinity Wax specializes in body-positive waxing in Saugus, MA that leaves clients feeling confident and amazing!

Rayven:

"One piece of advice I would offer to a brand new esthetician would be to never stop learning! Become an expert at your craft and always keep learning whether that is educating yourself on a specific service or keeping up with upcoming trends and products in the industry. Being an expert in your field will differentiate you from others and being able to educate your clients will not only help them but your business!"

Beauty and the Wax Suite

Veronica:

"My advice to any esthetician just stepping into the field is to try everything in the scope of your license. When I received my license I was convinced I would be a makeup artist and travel. Little did I know a side job waxing would end up being my passion. You will meet so many people in the industry who were chasing one dream and fell in love with something completely different. Keep an open mind and enjoy every moment."
